This LA sax player was involved in a lot of recordings of better known artists, but the real deal here is the awesome stuff he did with his own band, marking the transition from 1940's Jazz to West Coast R&B. Sides from 1944 to 1948. Sixteen tracks and a very interesting story on the back.
