The very first UK edition of this album was released by Stateside in the mid 60's along with another Excello compilation, "Authentic R&B". The Excello sound always kept simple and unadulterated. Both albums had a big impact on the british R&B scene, as many bands covered the stuff contained in them. These records also discovered the Louisiana Blues and R&B, not very known in Britain until then. Eight extra tracks have been added to the sixteen of the original edition (some of the presented here in alternative versions). With Slim Harpo, Whispering Smith, Silas Hogan, Leon Austin, Lightnin' Slim, Lonesome Sundown, Earl Gaines, Arthur Gunter, Roscoe Shelton, Lazy Lester, etc...
La primera edición británica de este álbum se publicó en el sello Stateside a mediados de los 60, junto a "Authentic R&B", otro recopilatorio del sello Excello, cuyo sonido siempre se mantuvo simple y sin adulterar. Ambos tuvieron un fortísimo impacto en los músicos de aquel tiempo, ya que en estos discos venían temas que fueron versioneados por casi todos los grupos de R&B de la época. Además descubrieron para el público inglés el Blues y el R&B de Louisiana, hasta entonces casi desconocido para la mayoría. A los dieciséis temas de la edición original (algunos de ellos en versiones alternativas) se añaden ocho extras.
