Impressive compilation with six (!) CD's in which we find 190 tracks, classified by chronological order, since 1955 up to 1962. The two first discs cover the classic R&B and Rock And Roll period with the distinctive sound of that town. Third and fourth CD's deal with the end of the Rock And Roll era and the coming of the early Soul. The last two ones compile the evolution towards a more Soul oriented sound, right before the New Orleans scene was dispersed as the musicians were booked from all over the country, right before the mid sixties. Los dos primeros discos están dedicados al período clásico del R&B y el Rock And Roll de aquella ciudad, con su típico sonido. El tercero y el cuarto se centran en el fin de la época del Rock and Roll y el nacimiento del primer Soul. Los dos últimos recopilan la evolución hacia el Soul, antes de que la escena de Nueva Orleans de dispersara cuando los músicos empezaron a ser solicitados en otras partes del país poco antes de la mitad de la década.
