His mix of genres (Jazz, Beat, R&B, Blue Beat, Pop) and his vocal style, influenced by Mose Allison and the more melodic Soul artists, made him a top act among the most discerning mods of the mid-60's in clubs as the Flamingo. This double album compiles the most distinctive stuff from that era, issued on Columbia between 1964 and 1966. Some obvious choices have been left out, but instead there are some rarities that give a good vision of tat particular time. Excellent artwork and notes. Twenty four tracks.
