Band led by bassist, trombonist and songwriter James "Doc" Starkes, with the singer Melvin Smith, guitarist Harry Crafton and pianist Harry Van "Piano Man" Wall among others. Their sound had a lot of different styles: vocal and instrumental R&B, Jump Blues, Jive, Blues, ballads, songs that are nearly Rock And Roll, etc... With some cuts that may sound familiar to you (or they should): "Looking For My Baby", "Pretty Plaid Skirt", "Women & Cadillacs", "Whim Wham Whop", etc... Twenty nine tracks. Highly recommended!
