Davies, Cyril

This harmonica player and singer was instrumental in the very first wave of british R&B since the late 50's. He worked with Sonny Boy Williamson, Alexis Korner, Long John Baldry, Nicky Hopkins, Jimmy Page, The Velvelettes and several future Rolling Stones before existing as such. He died in early 1964 at just 32, and left a scarce but tasty discography. Here are five tracks recorded live on a radio session. No info is given on the origin of these recordings, but they seem to come from the BBC show called "Saturday Club", aired on july 1963, with the second line-up of his backing band the All-Stars, featuring singer Long John Baldry and Keith Scott at the piano.

Murió a principios de 1964 con sólo treinta y dos años y dejó una breve pero jugosa discografía. En este EP se rescatan cinco temas grabados en directo en un estudio de radio. Aunque no se da ninguna información sobre su origen, parece tratarse de una sesión en el programa "Saturday Club" emitido por la BBC en julio de 1963 con la segunda formación de su grupo, los All Stars, con Long John Baldry a la voz y Keith Scott al piano, entre otros.
