This man is one of the biggest musical legends from California as a musician, producer, arranger and composer. In the early 60's he was the king of the Hot Rod music records, which he recorded with his usual team of session men (Jerry Cole, Hal Blaine, Leon Russell...) to release them under many different names of fake bands. This great CD includes two of his 1964 productions: The Kickstands' "Black Boots And Bikes" is devoted to the motorbikes as a subgenre of this style. The Knights' "Hot Rod High" is a bit less rockin' but it has some Chuck Berry and Beach Boys covers. Twenty three tracks.
Este hombre es una de las leyendas de la música californiana como músico, productor, arreglista, compositor, etc... A principios de los 60 era el rey de los discos de música Hot Rod, que grababa con su equipo habitual de músicos de estudio (Jerry Cole, Hal Blaine, Leon Russell...) para sacarlos bajo diversos nombres de grupos inexistentes. En este estupendo CD se recogen dos de sus producciones de 1964: el disco de los Kickstands ("Black Boots And Bikes") está dedicado a un subgénero de este estilo con las motos como tema central. El de los Knights ("Hot Rod High") es algo menos "rockero", aunque lleva versiones de Chuck Berry y Beach Boys. Veintitrés temas.
